Oh to be a kid again

So, last night I did something that I would normally not do. I went to Borders for the mayhem of the new Breaking Dawn book. The only reason I went, really, was because Keith and Jared are gone and there wasn't much else to do. Once there, I realized that I was quite a bit older than most of the "fans", except maybe their mothers. My friend, Gina, and I had quite the experience just watching the festivities. I'm not sure I will ever do that again. But at least I know now how wrapped up younger girls are in this whole Edward, Bella, Jacob love triangle. With all of that, I don't even have the book yet. I think I will check into getting it today or just wait until someone is done with it and borrow their copy. It was great fun, however, to drive around Olathe with Gina in her new Hummer. It brought me back to my younger days and it was a nice change from the normal nightly routine.

Brittany is such an angel. I put her down at Gina's in a pack and play and she went right to sleep. Orin stayed with the kids while we went "out." Funny that our version of going "out" is going to a Book release party and then to Sheridan's for ice cream. We still managed to stay out til midnight, so we're still cool, right? So, when we got back to Gina's I picked Brittany up and put her in the van. She was such a sweetie. We got home around 12:45p.m. and then we cuddled in my bed until she fell back to sleep and I put her in her crib. We didn't get up until 9:30a.m. What a night!!

I talked to Keith and Jared this morning. I miss them both very much. I'm so glad Keith will be home tomorrow night. Only one more week and Jared will too. I can tell Brittany is missing him. I'm so thankful for my friends and their little ones. It helps both of us to keep our mind off things.

I'm doing much better, emotionally, with Jared being gone this time. It's not that I'm okay with it, but I just feel less anxious and upset. I'm sure it is all the prayers. It also helps that Joe's mom is in town and Jared is with her while Joe is at work. I also think I'm learning to accept that Jared has to have these longer visits and so instead of driving myself nuts for two weeks, I just keep telling myself that he is fine and he will be fine and he will be home soon. Thanks goodness he will be home until mid October after this visit!

So, I don't really know what Brittany and I will do today. I'm sure we'll figure something out. :)

i had a blast on friday. i think some people were at church on sunday from the boarder's party. they looked liked what we would look like if we were 5 years older and ate mcdonalds every meal. they had checkered socks pulled up to their kness, everything black, white, and red.
