Run, Forest, Run

Okay so I completed my first week of "training" for the 5K I am running in June. One of my friends ran a marathon last year and has been helping me out. She e-mailed me this schedule and I started it last Saturday (3/28.) You start off running for 2 minutes, walking 4 minutes, and repeating it 4 times. I did not know that this could be so hard, but it was no easy task. Especially for someone who has not ran for a very long time. I am proud to say that I did it though! All four times and all four days! Then on Saturday (as in yesterday) it bumped up to run 3 minutes, walk 3 minutes, repeat four times. It was challenging, but I managed and I love the feeling of accomplishment when I am done. Not to mention that I mentally feel better. So, I am so glad that we joined the YMCA (yet again) and I'm hoping that I'm turning over a new leaf. I feel more dedicated to this than I have ever felt before. I think it is because I have a goal in sight. I'm not doing this expecting to loose all kinds of weight and I'm definitely not dieting, but I'm hoping that I will see some changes with my body anyway. I figure once I quit breastfeeding, the real changes will come. Until then, I will just train for my 5K and wear two sports bras!! :)

My lil' brother, Nick is coming for a visit tomorrow and the kids are so excited! He will be here for a week. We are all looking forward to it. I am taking him to see "The Phantom of the Opera" on Tuesday. The kids are also looking forward to the Easter Bunny and Brittany is especially cute. She thinks he is going to hop upstairs into her room although I keep telling her otherwise. They are at such a fun age.

I so enjoyed Conference today and amazingly enough I did get to hear most of it. It is so comforting to hear from the prophet and apostles and the message of hope that they share. I also enjoyed waking up at 9:30am and making waffles and bacon and not showering until 1:30pm. It was a good day!
